Research & Innovation

The keys to success

Research, development and innovation are key factors in ensuring the future competitiveness and success of the automotive components industry. Luxembourg is well aware of these challenges and therefore the Government is encouraging R&D activities and supports joint research partnerships.

Luxinnovation (, the Luxembourg agency for the promotion of innovation and research, provides information on EU funding programs and assists in the conception of R&D programs.

Many companies, such as IEE, CEBI, Carlex, Goodyear and Delphi have major R&D centres in Luxembourg. More than 2,200 people are employed in automotive R&D departments.

The Luxembourg Public Research Centres also provide R&D support for businesses. The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) specializes in materials analysis, nano- and information technologies.
